Chapter 01

Chicago Roots

I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois.

I come from a large family. On my mother's side there were six of us — three boys and three girls. Today there are five after losing my brother. On my father's side I have three older brothers and two older sisters.

Family taught me loyalty, responsibility, and resilience.

Chapter 02

Brotherhood Before Business

Long before Certified Empire existed, we built community through competition.

My older brother gave me boxing gloves, and every day I would bring multiple pairs outside. Groups of 50 or more young men would walk from neighborhood to neighborhood boxing, wrestling, competing, and pushing one another to improve.

Every Sunday entire football teams would meet at local parks and compete for hours.

We weren't enemies. We were building toughness, confidence, respect, accountability, brotherhood, and sisterhood.

“Strong communities are built when strong people come together.”

That spirit remains at the heart of Certified Empire.

Chapter 03

The Athlete

Football introduced me to competition. Wrestling introduced me to life.

At Gage Park High School I became the first heavyweight state champion in school history.

Wrestling taught me discipline, accountability, sacrifice, and mental toughness. Excuses didn't matter. Results did.

Missing one day of practice felt like missing two. The wrestling room taught me that greatness is earned through consistency.

Chapter 04

Iowa Central

My journey continued at Iowa Central Community College where I became a 2X NJCAA All-American wrestler.

More importantly, I became the first male in my family to attend college and achieve success at that level.

Wrestling taught me that nobody is bigger than the team. Iron sharpens iron. The men who pushed me in practice helped build the competitor I became.

Chapter 05

Loss

Life brought victories, but it also brought loss.

I lost my brother. I lost friends I considered brothers. I watched talented people lose their lives to the streets before they ever had the opportunity to fulfill their purpose.

“Tomorrow is never promised. Purpose cannot be postponed.”

Chapter 06

Fatherhood

I became a father at eighteen years old.

My children did not watch me become successful. They watched me fight for success. They watched me continue moving forward through adversity, setbacks, and uncertainty.

Fatherhood became one of the greatest motivations of my life.

Chapter 07

The Fight

My journey has included homelessness, financial hardship, personal setbacks, court battles, long hours driving trucks, entrepreneurship, and countless obstacles.

Every challenge reinforced one lesson:

“When the road disappears, keep going. When nobody believes in you, keep going. When life gets difficult, keep going.”

Chapter 08

Birth of Certified Empire

Certified Empire was born from every lesson learned throughout this journey.

Certified means proven — through adversity, through pressure, through experience.

Empire means ownership, legacy, freedom — building something greater than yourself that can impact future generations.

Chapter 09

Our Mission

Certified Empire is more than a fashion brand. It is a movement built around discipline, resilience, ownership, brotherhood, sisterhood, leadership, entrepreneurship, and generational wealth.

Our mission is to inspire people to build their own empire, create opportunities for others, strengthen communities, and leave behind a legacy that outlives them.
